SCOTT OBLEY PROMOTED TO DIRECTOR OF GROUP SALES AT THE
WAILEA BEACH MARRIOTT RESORT & SPA
WAILEA, MAUI, HAWAII – October 1, 2007 –Scott Obley has been promoted to
director of group sales at the 546-room Wailea Beach Marriott Resort & Spa
(www.waileamarriott.com), located within the luxurious Wailea Resort destination on
Maui.
“Scott is well-deserving of this promotion,” said John Jaskula, general manager of the
Wailea Beach Marriott Resort & Spa. “He is a great asset to our team and I am confident
that he will be successful in executing the resort’s group sales strategies.”
Prior to his promotion, Obley served for three years as senior account executive in the
hotel’s sales department. Before that, he was national sales manager at the Steamboat
Grand Resort Hotel in Steamboat Springs, Colorado and served over a period of four
years as concierge manager, recreation manager and sales manager at the Grand Wailea
Resort Hotel & Spa in Maui.
He is currently chairman of the Maui County Commission on Culture and the Arts, and
volunteers with Hands of Hope International and Hui No’eau Visual Arts Center.
He received a bachelor of fine arts degree in art history from the University of Colorado
at Boulder.
Obley, who was born in Long Beach, California and raised in Kansas City, Kansas,
currently resides in Pukalani, Maui.
