THE NEWLY BUILT NAUPAKA BALLROOM AT WAIKOLOA BEACH MARRIOTT RESORT & SPA IS THE CROWNING TOUCH OF THE HOTEL’S $50 MILLION ENHANCEMENT

WAIKOLOA, Hawaii – July 24, 2007 – The brand new 12,000 square-foot stateof- the-art Naupaka Ballroom at Waikoloa Beach Marriott Resort & Spa is quickly becoming a premier meetings venue in the luxury Kohala Coast Resort on Hawaii’s Big Island. It also has the distinction of being the first major hotel meeting space to be built in the state of Hawaii since The Pavilion at Ihilani opened in 2003 at the JW Marriott Ihilani Resort & Spa on Oahu.

“The addition of the ballroom substantially raises the level of our offerings to planners of meetings, incentives, corporate and other group events in upscale, luxurious resort destinations,” said Rodney Ito, general manager at Waikoloa Beach Marriott Resort & Spa.

“The ballroom essentially doubles our total indoor meeting space to 27,800 square feet. In addition, the new facilities feature an outdoor function area with scenic views of the turquoise blue waters of Anaehoomalu Bay,” Ito added.

From the eyes of a meeting planner, the new look and feel of Waikoloa Beach Marriott Resort & Spa is an ideal location to mix business and pleasure.

Located above palm-shaded Anaehoomalu Bay beach, the hotel is adjacent to ancient Hawaiian fishponds, the mamalahoa petroglyph field, and the historic King’s Trail.

It recently completed a $50 million transformation that includes 556 beautifully refurbished guest rooms, suites and cabanas; new spa, dining rooms and pool terrace; and a new porte cochere and lobby offering a fresh and exciting guest arrival experience.

Both the pool and dining facilities can be utilized for special events and have been designed to appeal to the corporate meeting and events market.

The contemporary décor and tranquil ambience of the Naupaka Ballroom is complemented by the gracious style and service of Hawaii's rich heritage. It is the perfect centerpiece for an unforgettable meeting in Hawaii.

The new ballroom offers 12,000 square feet of luxurious indoor meeting space and adjoins a 3,500 square-foot private lanai enclosed by a beautiful Hawaiian rock wall complete with romantic torchlights for evening receptions.

The venue accommodates up to 1,250 people and can be divided into seven separate rooms. The ballroom offers state-of-the-art-technology, Internet and other forms of data traffic to be processed at tremendous speeds with reliability and dependability.

Multiple T-3 capacities can be delivered on demand and dedicated intranets and private systems are handled with ease. A full-service business center that’s fully staffed is located nearby the meeting rooms and is fully equipped with computer stations, fax machines, photocopiers, and color laser printers.
