BRIAN SOMA JOINS JW MARRIOTT IHILANI RESORT & SPA AS NEW DIRECTOR OF SALES AND MARKETING

KO OLINA, OAHU, Hawaii – May 22, 2008 – The luxurious 387-room JW Marriott Ihilani Resort & Spa at Ko Olina announced Brian Soma as its new director of sales and marketing.

“I’m pleased to have Brian fill such an important role at our resort,” said Dan Banchiu, general manager. “He brings with him an impressive career in the luxury hospitality industry as well as a love and knowledge of the islands that will benefit our guests’ experiences.”

Soma’s role at JW Marriott Ihilani Resort & Spa marks a return home for the kama‘aina. Soma most recently served as the director of sales at the Four Seasons Punta Mita in Mexico for two years. Prior to that, he worked in similar roles at the Four Seasons Hualalai and The Orchid at Mauna Lanai on the Big Island.

Soma has replaced Mark Barnes, who has been promoted to area director of sales and marketing for Hawaii for Marriott International, Inc.
